I'm usually the one to take up for these small independent places. These places are in fact my preference. But this restaurant essentially ruined my St. Valentines day dinner and it would be irresponsible of me to keep this to myself. Location was in a strip mall. Not really an issue, but some other review sites list it in the harbor. It clearly is not. It's about 6 miles south. The ambiance is nice and the host (who we later found out was the manager) gave my wife a rose. The live piano player was a nice touch. That was about the high point of my experience, from my walk in to my table. It went downhill fast from there. The service started off awful. We were there for 15 minutes without any of the wait staff acknowledging we were there. There were several open tables by the time we got there, so it's not like the staff was particularly busy. When one finally did show up, we ordered from their valentines day menu which included a glass of champagne. We wanted a refill, and even though we were willing to pay for the extra glass, they treated their cheap champagne as if it were platinum. When we asked for a mixed drink, we were told that they only had beer and wine. After our terrible experience with the food (will be explained in the next paragraph in detail) the manager had the audacity to suggest a 10 percent discount. The waitress accidentally ran the full amount after the restaurant offered to cover my wife's half of the dinner so we had to endure this disaster for another 10 minutes while they corrected the bill after we were trying hard to bail from this sideshow of a restaurant ASAP. The food somehow was worse than the service. My meal was a filet minion with red potatoes and asparagus and my wife had the cornish hen and rice with broccoli. My steak was about a little bigger than a half dollar coin and about a half inch thick. (Seriously). You could eat it in one bite. I would have forgiven the pathetic micro-sized steak had it not been rubbery as if it were boiled and stuck in a microwave. The asparagus was so overcooked that it would slip off the fork. And my potatoes? I have no idea since they didn't put it on my plate. So, as I was looking for out hard-to-find waitress to address the missing potatoes, my wife gives me a half of her cornish after she tried to consume her also overcooked broccoli which also fell apart on her fork before it got to her mouth. I cut it open the cornish hen half and wala, bloody near the bone. Yes, my wife's cornish hen was cooked medium rare. Fortunately my wife hadn't bit heavily into it because she would have likely gotten sick. Once we pointed this out, the manager offered to get us a thoroughly cooked one. I declined as I had it at this point. After this horror show, the manager tries to offer us a 10 percent discount for this hot mess of an experience, which we found frankly insulting. We got the restaurant to pay for her meal. We left there and had better food at a cigar place across the border back in Virginia. The otherwise pleasant ambiance was rapidly ruined by terrible service and even more terrible food. They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Whoever said that was right. I wouldn't go back to this place if they paid me to eat there.

This place is closed. Open table still takes reservations but don't waste your time going there.

Chicken wings & pork chops were off the hook, Juicy, flavorful and succulent. Patron Margaritas were good. The live band tonight was very good, but our back was to them so not in a great space. Overall great place for good food & music in Fort Washington. If service had been better ( It was our waitress' first night) I'd have given them a *** 1/2 stars .

Best fried catfish I have had in a long time!! The manager served us and was very attentive. I had a pleasant dining experience. At dinner we found out there was a comedy show later that night so we left and came back. The wait staff is inexperienced. Better management of the dining room and training the wait staff should improve service and efficiency. Decor is a little sloppy and needs freshening up. Comedy show was more than worth the cover charge. Saw Chris Thomas (BET) and Sylvia Traymore Morrison (SNL writer). Overall had a good experiance. It's nice to have a local joint that you can pop in to every now and then for good food and entertainment. Will definitely be back.

Attended Saturdsy night jazz show it was awesome. Although the the stage is in an awkward place the band that plays every other Saturday was awesome. The wings and crab balls were great the service was like your family was serving "just call me when u need me". But it was overall a good experience. I will be returning.

Arrived for an early dinner on a weekday (5:30 on a Tuesday). We were the only customers. While some places would almost ignore you our service was just right. The server appeared at always just the right time. Orders were delivered at a reasonable speed and presentation was great as was the food. Upscale Southern/Soul food. Who'd a thunk! LoL. Appetizer of collard green dip. Interesting concept. I thought it was ok while my partner thought it was great. Ice tea to drink Sweet and unsweetened are available). Make course for me was baked catfish with whipped potatoes and green beans. Partner had grilled chicken salad. Both were great and just right service size. There was no entertainment this night but the manager stopped by several times and at the end left us cards showing the entertainment options for the scheduled nights. We'd love to come back Sundays for the Jazz. Atmosphere and décor was reasonably upscale for a strip mall location. Nice white linen table cloths etc and associated furnishings. This is a new dining location and much needed option for Fort Washington. I hope they make a go of it. We loved it and plan to return with friends soon.

The food prices are too high. Chicken drummettes not wings...$18. House salad for$10. Really! The inside is too dim to read menu.....which has typos. The wait staff does not provide consistent customer service. The jazz show was nice. However, the decor could benefit from a facelift. Bartender has a aggressive attitude. She came out to the table and asked "who has a problem with the drink? She was very defensive.
